Kids' Drumming
Circle
Fourth Thursday at Cedar Mountain Drums
6:30 - 7:30 pm
Ages 3+
A heartbeat is the first thing we hear when coming from spirit to form, our
own and our Mother's. All children have an innate and natural rhythm, and
drumming wakes up the sense of wholeness and magic that is already familiar to
young children.
Our intention is to create safe and nurturing space for children to
experience hands-on percussion as a group. In addition, we will be using
stories and projects to teach about the basic essence of the Medicine Wheel, the
four directions and the Natural World. Children will learn about honoring
their own rhythm, sitting in Circle, communication with the Talking Stick, and
learning to interact with the rhythm of others in the circle.
$5.00 Donation Requested.
Facilitated by Mandi and Amy. Mandi facilitates the
Women's Drumming Circle at Cedar Mountain and is nanny to Jasmine (age 4), who
has naturally grown up to the sound of drumming (Yes, her Daddy is Patrick,
founder of Cedar Mountain Drums). Amy is currently a student at
Marylhurst, pursuing a degree in Elementary Education, and the mother of Skyler
(age 3). She taught classes in Los Angeles for five years in multicultural
and recyclable art, sewing, jewelry and cooking.
